James Cook High School Library Upgrade

Refurbishment of the library included a new entrance and demolition of a rear lean-to extension that was replaced in the same style as the rest of the building.

Structural engineering involved assessment of the existing structure, support of the existing and new structure and services such as air conditioning plant, bracing for seismic and wind loads and provision of new foundations.

Rainforest Express Train Bridges

ACH Consulting Engineers have recently completed an investigation of the Nihotupu train bridges located in the Waitakere Ranges. An in-depth survey was carried out on these bridges including testing of critical elements. Calculations were carried out to determine their ultimate capacity and safety factors under current various loading arrangements. A full report was subsequently prepared to discuss the findings and outcome and make maintenance recommendations.

Auckland Water Treatment Plant Assessments

ACH Consulting Engineers are currently undertaking inspections, analysis and remedial specification of Auckland’s Water Treatment Plants as part of routine maintenance. The buildings, water retaining structures and equipment platforms are constructed in various materials including steel, reinforced concrete, block, brick and timber.
