ACH continue to support the Canterbury Earthquake recovery process.

Our Engineers (Directors and staff alike) went to Christchurch as volunteers in the immediate aftermath of the February 22nd event.

ACH were engaged by Christchurch City Council in March to continue to provide Engineering expertise and assist with the massive workload in the cordoned 'Red Zone' and the CBD.

Through March, April and May ACH staff carried out structural engineering assessments, assisted with business owner access, risk analysis and many other essential duties. Read more »

After the tragic Canterbury Earthquake on February 22nd, IPENZ called for volunteers to assist with the Civil Defence state of emergency response. ACH responded by sending one of our senior Chartered Professional Engineers with an assistant to Christchurch.

The swiftness and selfless contribution made by all the volunteer engineers has been formally recognised by IPENZ with the 2011 President's Award, Fulton-Downer Gold Medal, being presented collectively to this group in a ceremony in Christchurch. Read more »

ACH staff and management have been deeply saddened by the recent events in Christchurch and extend their best wishes to the people of Canterbury and any of our clientele with family and friends in the region.

ACH were pleased to provide two staff members on a volunteer basis to take part in "Operation Suburb", which combined welfare workers, EQC staff and Building Inspectors into assessment teams. Over two hundred such teams were tasked with visiting 54,000 homes in the worst hit eastern suburbs. This years Speight’s Coast to Coast saw a much different set of weather conditions prevail from that of the ‘weather bomb’ that effected last years race.

One of our own Engineer’s, Louise Mark, lined up on the beach at Kumara on the South Island’s West Coast to have another crack at New Zealand’s famous multisport event.

The day held a few upsets with very gusty wind conditions causing havoc on the 70km kayak leg, however a gutsy final ride into Christchurch saw Louise hold on to 4th place in the Open category.
